June Pulse June Power Hour

Representative Scott Louser will be the speaker. Topics includes: road to the senate, professional opportunities and key legislation from this year’s session!
Food will be catered at $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
We will be collecting donations for the Souris Valley United Way Community Baby Shower at this event, so if possible please bring a donation of diapers, baby wipes, baby care items, lotions, health care items or adult personal care items. The items will be donated to local pantries and shelters to help those in need. If you bring an item your name will be entered into a drawing for a Free Power Hour!
Magic 60 Recap
We had another great year at the Magic 60 this May. This year we partnered with United Community Bank to give away $7,500 to the following organizations:
$500 to Visit Minot for Magic City Games
$3,250 to Magic City Discovery Center for children's museum exhibits
$1,500 to Minot Park District for Expression Swings in Oak Park
$500 to Domestic Violence Crisis Center for the children's program
$750 to YWCA for drug testing materials
$1,000 to Creative Night Out First Thursday for Downtown events
Thank you to all the "pitchers" this year, and also thank you to everyone who came out to show your support! YP is so pleased to be apart of such a great event for the community. Since the start of Magic 60 in 2015 we have been able to give away over $30,000!
Outreach Team News
The next Outreach Team meeting will be Thursday, June 29th at Noon at Broadway Bean & Bagel. Anyone interested in joining the Outreach Team is welcome to attend!
Outreach Team is forming a subcommittee to plan the 8th Annual YP Supermarket Sweep! If you are interested in being a part of the planning team, please contact Jessica Henderson (jessica.henderson@fwbt.com).
Volunteers Needed
Souris Valley United Way is hosting their 5th Annual Community Baby Shower to collect diapers, baby wipes, baby care items, lotions, health care items and adult personal care items for those in need.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the Souris Valley United Way Community Baby Shower mall drop site on Thursday, June 22nd. We are looking for 2 volunteers per one hour shift from 11 am to 5 pm. Volunteers should wear Live United shirts. If you do not have one, please indicate what size t-shirt you will need as United Way will provide one.
